PlanNet Consulting was retained by this regional bank to evaluate alternatives and develop a strategy for the location and operations of the bank’s production, subproduction and disaster recovery data centers. The project entailed assessment of the bank’s existing data centers and cost/benefit/risk comparison of retrofits, greenfield construction and collocation/turnkey lease options. Five specific geographic markets that meet the bank’s critera were evaluated for risk potential, construction/lease costs, utility costs, labor & staffing, vendor support, and other factors.
Recommendations leveraged the bank's existing investments while increasing overall data center reliability and capacity for growth.
